Might be great chat app if devs will listen to their users
Nice design overall, and it is perceived as an app which is done by experienced developers. However, some decisions need to take into account multilingual nature of the world. Like chat font choice, which looks good until you switch from Latin (US) to Cyrillic (Russian or Ukrainian). It seems that in such a case a default message font is substituted by some system font, which looks totally different. The font should be Unicode with good selection of characters for any more or less widely used script.
Also, there should be possibility to change a chat font size. I believe, main chat purpose is exchanging information, and the more information can I see in the window, the better, but present limitation doesn’t allow me to decrease font size and see as many chat messages as I feel comfortable.
As as side note, I am writing this review being logged in to Yosemite, and the latest version of Wire in the AppStore is 1.5. Before that, I was logged in to my Mavericks volume, and noticed that AppStore did not show an update to Wire 1.4 installed on that volume. Rather strange, considering system requirements for Wire 1.5 stating it needs Mavericks+.
