Messages don’t send after update

The latest version, after reinstalling or other troubleshooting, doesn’t send messages. You’ll type a message, click return/enter, and it vanishes.

Video Calling ?

This app is really good, cool design and all, setup was easy. But is it / will it be possible to video call ?

Not Working

Impossible to fetch the address book on OSX (yosemite)… how can I send easily an invation to add a contact ?? yes beautifull interface but it doesn’t works properly..

Now working great !

The annoying bugs are gonne ! I can now call and send messages vis OSX ! Last step Video calls ;)

pending

that bag sent a message to someone who did not know and not to delete the person ..... how do I delete the account that application ??????

Great design

The design looks georgous. But more importantlly, as of now, it delivers on the promise to keep all the clients in sync. I wish more of my friends would have already registered on this WhatsApp alternative.

too many pixels

wire app takes at least 1/5 of my macbook screen. means i cannot use it while working.

Great App - works very well and is excellent

No problems, works very well, very clear voice in a good quality. Would be good to have the possibility to invite friends via e-mail to bring them also on the wire network ;-)

What Path and Skype should have been.

There are still a lot of features I want to see in Wire but, I believe they are on the right track. The audio quality of voice calls is the best I’ve heard yet. Lets push them to get video going ASAP.

This is how Messenger should look like

When Great Design meets considered simplicity and fast connectivity, the result would probably look like the application above. Thumbs up!

Meh.

Theres not a lot reason for another chat app these days. Especially not for one that commits all the sins of services that love to have your data: 1. It talks to Google on launch. 2. It talks to an analytics service regularly. 3. It requires you to create an account tied to an e-mail. Nothing to see here, move along.

Great looking app - looks promising.

This is the first communications app that has a great UI and promised end-to-end encryption for voice calls, messages and media that are sent through the service. As with a new app there are bound to be issues. Currently I’m experiencing the following: 1. Chats initiated on iOS crash when first starting a new conversation. Messages are still sent, but they don’t show up until the app crashes and you restart the app. 2. No sound/notifications on both Mac app (running 10.10.1 on Retina MBP) and iOS app (running 8.1.1 on iPhone 6).

Great job!

This is amazing! This is the first messaging app with such a great user interface. Keep up the good work.

still some work to do

Great User Interface and sound/connection quality, wold be nice if it supported video call. Had a few problems loading pictures on the OS X version.

segmentation fault 11

This application has segmentation fault 11 problem.

Nice for first try

But some drawbacks…. 1. Why the hell the Russian font on Mac version is BOLD? 2. Too large window on Mac without a chance to resize 3. After replying to a message on Mac, the banner on iPhone icon still shows unread message… Keep trying and good luck ;)

Might be great chat app if devs will listen to their users

Nice design overall, and it is perceived as an app which is done by experienced developers. However, some decisions need to take into account multilingual nature of the world. Like chat font choice, which looks good until you switch from Latin (US) to Cyrillic (Russian or Ukrainian). It seems that in such a case a default message font is substituted by some system font, which looks totally different. The font should be Unicode with good selection of characters for any more or less widely used script. Also, there should be possibility to change a chat font size. I believe, main chat purpose is exchanging information, and the more information can I see in the window, the better, but present limitation doesn’t allow me to decrease font size and see as many chat messages as I feel comfortable. As as side note, I am writing this review being logged in to Yosemite, and the latest version of Wire in the AppStore is 1.5. Before that, I was logged in to my Mavericks volume, and noticed that AppStore did not show an update to Wire 1.4 installed on that volume. Rather strange, considering system requirements for Wire 1.5 stating it needs Mavericks+.

Could be better

The overall verdict is – good. But there’s a lack of some commonly used features: – ability to share user’s screen while video call; – ability to use a chat while calling; – poor preferences pane. Please, improve.

ok, but

5 stars when you add the Video Calls!!!!!!!!

A Dearth of documentation and support

Our team decided to try this app for our international team communications. After 40 minutes I was completely unable to find any information to assist me in making Wire utilize my Blue Eyeball for input OR my UA Apollo for output, despite confirming both input and output using the Sound preference pane (and listening to audio from other applications). I was able to get sound with the iPhone version, but that isn’t what we need.
