Crashed and gave up

Downloaded it and couldn’t get past registration. Wanted to see the UI everyone was talking about, but got nowhere. Deleted it.

Beautifully done, no encryption

This would have replaced everything for me, but no end-to-end encryption, so I just uninstalled it. I’m sad they chose to do that server-side rather than client-side; was so excited about this app!

looks good, works good most likely even smells good

nifty communication app with intuitive handling - fun to use, fun to look at - LIKE !

Brilliant

The design of this application is incredible and the functionality is great. It has a minimal flair that can be cumbersome at first, but once you get used to it, it’s great. My only suggestion would be to add in the ability to completely delete messages that you don’t want “archived” and also taking a look at the memory usage of the desktop app — it’s resource heavy for sure.

Great Design but no one is on Wire so what’s the point

Great app for version 1 but none of my friends are on it so it’s more of an experiment rather than my main platform.

Beautiful

Simple and elegant

Hopeful

Beautiful interface and audio is crystal clear. However, it is STILL missing a TON of features that are keeping me from migrating. Soundcloud links work amazingly! If only YouTube was integrated the same way… -No screensharing... -No video chat... -No file transfers... -Youtube videos don’t play inside the app (as advertised)... -Can’t change volume of calls... -Not enough customization… Once these features are added it will easily be 5 stars and I will switch over from Skype. STEREO AUDIO WOULD BE AN INCREDIBLE "NEW AGE" ADDITION THAT GOES WIDELY UNNOTICED

Apple geek

I’ve been very pleased with this App and the continued upgrades they make. I have found that I am using Wire more and more for my moblie communcations with friends and family. The photo aspect of this app is super cool and totally worth using the app over others of it type.

Calling quality is ace!

This is my new go to app for calling … the audio is crystal clear. With one swipe and a tap, I can switch from sharing photos and my favorite music to talking to my closest friends and family. A perfect mix of a beautiful interface with all the things I need for a nicer conversation experience.

It needs a lot of work

* Feels quick. At least for now. Let’s see how fast it is when they gather a large user base. Although I find this rather hard as it doesn’t do anything different than what tons of other apps/services are already doing. * There’s a disparity in the ways you sign up for an account. On your phone you’ll need to use your #. On the computer your asked to sign up with an email. * Design is minimalistic, clean. * Viewing videos inside the app doesn’t work as advertised. I tried pasting a YouTube link and all you get is a preview that says it must be opened in your browser. :( * If and when viewing Youtube videos inside the app gets resolved, it should also support Vimeo and other if any major video hosts. * No thumbnail previews for pasted URL’s. Skype has this feature and it’s a must. It adds instant visual clarity as to what the content is about. * You can’t manage your contacts. There’s no way I can see to delete a contact. * It uses a lot of RAM. More than Skype and other messengers. * No easy way to type Emojis. You can from the menu, but this is very impractical. Emoji input should be besides the text input field. * Useless Ping feature. This serves no purpose as far as I can tell. It’s actually annoying. Emoji input should take precedence and replace this thing. * Although I have notifications enabled whithin my System Preferences, they have yet to show up when I receive a message. * Notificaitons whithin the app are very, very subtle. They somehow need to be prominent. * ONE OF THE MOST GLARING OMISSIONS IS THAT YOU CAN’T SENT ANY FILES OTHER THAN PHOTOS. Because of this, I’ve dropped my rating to 2 stars, whenever these issues/omissions get resolved I’ll happily revise my rating and review.

Wire just keeps getting better

I have been using wire since it launched. My favorite feature is sharing pictures while messaging my friends. It’s simply a beautiful experience. Callling my friends around the world sounds like they are in the same room! I had never seen GIF’s before but since its part of wire I have fun with this feauture almost daily. I appreciate in this version that I can now delete a conversation. Keep up the great work wire!

Battery consumption when app isn’t using

First, it’s just browser, not a native app. But the main reason I don’t want to use it now is about 5% battery drain for two Wire apps total according Activity Monitor. I think 5% is too much for any laptop. For comparsion, Viber eats about 0,2%. There are some minor bugs like the app doesn’t save window size after reopening.

It can be great when it comes to windows mobile too

I like the desgin and the concept of this app…it can be the new way to communicate over all the only thing i miss is don’t have the app to windows phone.. so you can support the new windows 10 mobile with a universal app and also have more extensions like see trello, dropbox… and others, and have ecripted messages Do that and you will make me and many customers happy and good luck becoming number one.

A new and vibrant messaging app

I like the look and feel of this new messenger app. the user interface is amazingly different and new. The availability of wire from web to phone and to mac makes it super easy to chat from anywhere. I hope to stick to this messenger for a very long time. lets invite our friends.

Has great potential!

This app is great! I think this app combines the features of iMessage and Whatsapp and makes it even better…. The interface is great and user friendly. It’s minimalistic, yet useful. It melts away to do what it was meant to do; connect people. And it does it very nicely. The UI doesn’t come in the way of connecting with people. This app has great potential. My only request to the developer would be to add video calling feature. Then this app would be close to perfect. Please consider adding this feature…. And thank you for giving us such a nice and useful app to connect with our loved ones!!!

Disappointing

The app used to be great before v2, now it just feels slow. Also since v2, the app seems to log out pretty often, restarting the app restores your previous session. Happens several time a day. Mobile apps are still ok.

Pretty amazing.

This application is pretty amazing, a great alternative to Skype. It could’ve been better if it would’ve taken less time to start up when I open the app, if there were video calls enabled and if you could ‘remove’ messages (the way they are removed on Skype). I love how the quality of the calls are so clear, how the Interface is beautiful and is super user-friendly. I hope Wire will continue to change and become an even better app than it is today. Good luck!

Probably the Best App on the App Store

Frankly, this app is amazing. It is the best app on the app store and the best social media/messaging app. I use this with my classmates to do projects with the group audio call. The app is “elegant” per my best friend. Group chats are easy and work. Another great feature is that this app is beautiful. The UI is fantastic and is extremely intuitive. But the most important thing is that the chat is encrypted. There are not many encrypted chats that work on such a range of devices except for a few such as whatsapp. Still, these apps do not compare.

no desktop screen / file sharing

this would be a great replacement for Skype if it could screen share it could send files

some interface tweaks needed, but great so far

I am using wire on my phone and happy to see a solid desktop experience as well. The current thing keeping it from being my goto messenger on desktop is the interface. It needs to be able to get smaller to take up less real estate when I am using it in a more passive mode. I would say it should get half as wide and a third less tall in terms of minimum size. The file sharing will also be a big help. Great tutorial vids/activities and features otherwise!
